About us
At Orion Research, we have a track record of completing complex and innovative hardware projects on time and on budget. As a team, we have over 40 years of experience developing novel hardware which has resulted in 25 patents.

Andrew Latham
Andrew Latham has 13 years of experience in a range of R&D and product development roles. His career has ranged from developing novel hybrid vehicles at Artemis Intelligent Power to commercialising agricultural robotics. Until recently he lead the mechanical design team at Spire, a fast growing cube-sat manufacturing firm. He is a chartered member of the IMechE.

Henry Dodson
Henry Dodson has extensive experience in machine design. While working at Artemis Intelligent Power, he obtained his PHD on the topic of digital displacement pumps for multi-megawatt wind turbine transmissions. He has worked as a senior consultant for Ricardo, where he worked on a number of electrification and hydrogen vehicle projects. He has significant experience in the modelling of off-highway vehicles, with a focus on mechatronics and electrical machine design. A highly creative engineer, Henry is listed on over 20 patents in areas ranging from electro-mechanical valve design to wind turbine architectures.

Matt Green
Matt Green is a chartered electro-mechanical engineer with a strong technical background ranging from development of a novel 7MW wind turbine transmission to leading and managing a number of significant R&D projects focussing on construction machinery emissions reduction and electrification. Before co-founding Orion Research, he was a Senior Engineer and Technical Programme Manager at Danfoss. During his time there he was listed as inventor on a number of patents and was shortlisted for the Scottish Engineering Young Engineer of the Year award. He is a chartered member of the IMechE.
